Our coffee is air roasted in feather batches. We use this unique air roasting process for a few reasons; the key ones being health, taste, and environmental. Roasting our coffee in feather batches (less than 9lbs. at a time) also ensures the coffee you drink is always the freshest it can possibly be.
The traditional process of Drum roasting, which utilizes gas, has no way to separate the beans from the chaff (the shell of the bean that sheds during roasting). The chaff in turn gets burnt and exposes the beans to carcinogens and can often leave a harsh acidic taste. From an environmental standpoint, burning gas to roast the beans emits carbon into the atmosphere.
Air roasting solves all of those issues and provides a clean and crisp flavor profile, the coffee is much easier on your stomach, and the air roaster is electric emitting no carbon into the atmosphere.
