Coriander is the seed of the cilantro plant. It has a citrus flavor, most like that of oranges, and may be found in whole or powdered form.
It's a common ingredient in spice rubs, marinades, chilis, sauces, soups and curries and works well with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and potatoes.
It alleviates gas and aids digestion. When consumed along with powdered aniseed, it is an excellent remedy for fever.
